X Subscription is SpaceXSI's new single plan for Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium. The company posted the launch on x.ai/news/x-subscription around October 12-13, 2026, and said global rollout continues over the next few days.

I am Nitin Kumar, Lead Project Coordinator at Debugged Pro. India and USA agency product teams keep asking the same thing after this launch: do we keep separate SuperGrok, Cursor, and X Premium seats, or move to one bill? This guide sticks to verified SpaceXSI docs and secondary press. No invented quotes. No fake usage numbers.

Key Takeaways

X Subscription bundles four products. Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium sit on one plan, per SpaceXSI.
Paid tiers run $8 to $200 monthly. Free $0, Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100, Ultra $200. Annual list prices are on docs.x.ai.
Usage is a shared weekly pool. It covers Grok models in Grok apps, the Grok tab on X, and Cursor.
Grok Bot starts at Premium. Official docs say Plus does not include Grok Bot.
Existing customers can stay put. Switching is optional, with prorated refunds. New buyers only get The X Subscription.
Teams get SOC 2 controls at the same per-seat prices. Agencies should still budget third-party Cursor model top-ups.

What The X Subscription Actually Is

SpaceXSI frames The X Subscription as one AI subscription for thinking, creating, building, and sharing. Grok covers chat, voice, and image and video generation. Grok Bot adds AI teammates that complete work. Cursor supplies local and cloud coding agents. X adds a checkmark, creator tools, and fewer ads, with higher tiers removing ads from the timeline.

Engadget (Mariella Moon, Oct 13, 2026) notes the company was formerly SpaceXAI and was renamed SpaceXSI after Musk and Trump "super intelligence" framing. Engadget also recalls the Cursor acquisition around August. The Verge (Dominic Preston, Oct 13) summarizes the same $8 to $200 Ultra range and the stick-or-switch choice for current subscribers.

For agencies, the practical shift is billing and vendor concentration. One vendor now sells chat, bots, coding agents, and social premium access. That can simplify procurement. It can also raise exit risk if a client depends on all four products.

X Subscription Pricing Table You Can Cite

Use the official SpaceXSI table first. Engadget's Ultra note said "20 times" Plus usage. Official pricing lists Ultra at 50x Plus. Prefer the official figure in client briefs.

Plan	Monthly	Annual (docs.x.ai)	Included usage	Notes
Free	$0	$0	Limited	Daily Grok access, starter Cursor coding-agent allowance, standard X
Plus	$8/mo	$80/yr	Base	More Grok and Cursor AI usage, checkmark, creator tools, fewer ads; no Grok Bot
Premium	$30/mo	$300/yr	4x Plus	SuperGrok + Cursor Pro + X Premium+ benefits (previously about $90/mo combined); Grok Bot included
Super	$100/mo	$1000/yr	15x Plus	All above; Grok Bot included
Ultra	$200/mo	$2000/yr	50x Plus	All above; Grok Bot included

SpaceXSI says each comparable new tier provides more usage-per-dollar than the plan it replaces. Each X Subscription plan also includes at least twice as much coding usage with SpaceXAI models as the comparable Cursor plan.

How Shared Usage Works Across Grok and Cursor

Paid plans include a shared pool of Grok model usage across Grok and Cursor. Your pool covers Grok models whether you use them in the Grok apps, the Grok tab on X, or Cursor. Official FAQs say the allowance refreshes weekly, so one heavy day does not wipe a whole month.

Within Grok, the pool covers Chat, Imagine, Voice, and Grok Bot. Usage costs vary by product. If you hit the included pool, you can buy top-ups or wait for refresh. Remaining usage shows in settings.

Third-party models in Cursor stay available on Premium and above. They are billed separately at API list prices through top-ups. They are not part of the included SpaceXAI model pool. You can set spending caps. If a team is still on an older Cursor plan, included third-party usage continues until they switch.

Who Gets Grok Bot on X Subscription

This detail trips many seat planners. Docs.x.ai states clearly: Grok Bot is included on Premium, Super, and Ultra. Plus does not include Grok Bot. Bot usage draws from that seat's shared weekly pool, not a separate additive pool.

If an agency client needs AI teammates that execute work, budget at least Premium per seat. Do not promise Grok Bot on Plus in proposals. Check the official Grok Bot pages again before you lock a statement of work.

Existing Subscribers vs New Customers

For existing SuperGrok, Cursor, or X Premium subscribers, nothing changes today unless they switch. They keep current plan, price, and features. Switching appears in billing settings when available. Eligible monthly and annual plans cancel on switch, with a prorated refund for unused time. The new plan starts immediately.

New customers only get The X Subscription. Previous standalone plans are closed for new sign-ups. That matters for agencies onboarding fresh client accounts this week.

Apple App Store Cursor caveat: if Cursor was bought through Apple, switching does not cancel that subscription and SpaceXSI cannot refund it. The user must cancel in iPhone or iPad Settings and request any refund from Apple. Google Play has separate treatment in the docs.

Annual subscribers keep every day they paid for unless they upgrade. Future forced moves, if any, come with advance notice. SpaceXSI has not published a hard end date for legacy plans.

Teams and Enterprise on X Subscription

Team seats use the same per-seat prices as individual Premium ($30), Super ($100), and Ultra ($200). Plus is not available for teams. Members of one team can mix seat tiers, for example three Premium seats and one Super seat.

SSO and admin controls for organization access
Consolidated billing and usage analytics
SOC 2 compliance called out for team plans
3x more coding usage than older Cursor Teams, at a lower per-seat price (SpaceXSI claim)

Enterprise buyers can manage Grok and Cursor from one dashboard with a single usage pool. Sales handles custom enterprise paths. Agencies that run AI SaaS development for clients should map which seats need Premium for Grok Bot versus Super or Ultra for heavy coding weeks.

India and USA Agency Checklist for Tooling Spend

Use this checklist in the first internal review. Keep it short enough for a Slack update and a client email.

1. Rebuild the seat map

List every active SuperGrok, Cursor, and X Premium seat by person and cost center.
Mark who needs Grok Bot (Premium floor) versus chat-only Plus.
Mark who needs heavy Cursor agent weeks (Super or Ultra pool).
Separate India GST-bearing invoices from USA card or ACH billing where finance cares.

2. Price the switch carefully

Compare like for like. Premium at $30 replaces a prior ~$90 combined SuperGrok + Cursor Pro + X Premium+ story, per SpaceXSI.
Model annual vs monthly. Docs list Plus $80/yr, Premium $300/yr, Super $1000/yr, Ultra $2000/yr.
Expect prorated refunds on switch, but bank timing can take a few days.
Cancel Apple Cursor seats manually before you celebrate a "single bill."

3. Control third-party model top-ups

Premium and above still allow third-party models in Cursor. Those draw top-up credits from first use. Set spending caps per seat. Put a weekly review on the calendar for any agency pod that mixes SpaceXAI models with Claude, GPT, or other API models. For product design comparisons of coding agents, see our related note on Claude Code vs Cursor for product designers.

4. Treat vendor concentration as a risk item

One plan spanning chat, bots, IDE agents, and social premium raises concentration risk. Align the review to the NIST AI Risk Management Framework Govern, Map, Measure, and Manage functions. Document what breaks if SpaceXSI throttles usage, changes third-party pricing, or delays team SSO.

Govern: name an owner for AI tooling spend and seat policy.
Map: list which client deliverables depend on Grok, Grok Bot, or Cursor.
Measure: track weekly pool burn and top-up spend against project budgets.
Manage: keep a dual-path coding agent option and contract exit notes.

Client Conversation Script You Can Reuse

Keep the first client update short. Buyers want checkable facts.

What happened: SpaceXSI launched The X Subscription around October 12-13, 2026, bundling Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium (official x.ai news; Engadget; The Verge).
Why it matters: one bill can replace three, with Premium positioned as former ~$90 combined value at $30, and shared weekly usage across Grok and Cursor.
What is limited: Grok Bot is not on Plus; third-party Cursor models need separate top-ups; Apple Cursor does not auto-cancel on switch; Engadget Ultra "20x" conflicts with official "50x" (use official).
What we will change here: remap seats, set top-up caps, confirm Teams SOC 2 needs, and log vendor concentration under NIST AI RMF.

Practical Pitfalls Agencies Should Flag Early

These are the mistakes we already see in Slack threads after the announcement.

Promising Grok Bot on Plus. Docs say no. Start at Premium.
Ignoring shared weekly refresh. Heavy Monday coding can still leave Friday short if the pool is small.
Forgetting third-party API spend. Included SpaceXAI coding usage is not the same as free Claude or GPT inside Cursor.
Double billing via Apple. Switchers on iOS Cursor must cancel in Settings.
Assuming Teams includes Plus. Plus is not a team tier.
Citing Engadget Ultra 20x in SOWs. Official Ultra is 50x Plus. Label secondary press when you quote it.

When Staying on Legacy Plans Still Makes Sense

SpaceXSI says legacy plans continue. Switching is optional for now. Agencies may keep legacy seats when:

A client contract freezes tool names and SKUs until renewal.
Included third-party Cursor usage on an old plan still covers a pod's mix, and switching would move that spend to top-ups immediately.
Finance needs a clean month boundary before prorated refunds hit bank statements.
Only one product in the stack is mission critical, so a full bundle adds unused cost.

Revisit the choice at each renewal. SpaceXSI expects most customers to upgrade for value, and says remaining customers will move later with notice. There is no public forced-migration date yet.

FAQ: X Subscription for Agency Teams

What is The X Subscription and who announced it?

The X Subscription is SpaceXSI's single plan that bundles Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium. SpaceXSI announced it around October 12-13, 2026 on x.ai/news/x-subscription, with Engadget and The Verge covering the launch on October 13.

How much does X Subscription cost per month and year?

Official monthly prices are Free $0, Plus $8, Premium $30, Super $100, and Ultra $200. Annual list prices from docs.x.ai are Plus $80/yr, Premium $300/yr, Super $1000/yr, and Ultra $2000/yr. Usage multiples vs Plus are 4x (Premium), 15x (Super), and 50x (Ultra).

Is Grok Bot included on every X Subscription plan?

No. Official docs state Grok Bot is included on Premium, Super, and Ultra. Plus does not include Grok Bot. Bot usage draws from that seat's shared weekly usage pool.

What happens to existing SuperGrok, Cursor, or X Premium subscribers?

Nothing changes unless they switch. Existing plans continue. Switching is optional, with a prorated refund for unused time. New customers only get The X Subscription; previous plans are closed for new sign-ups. Apple App Store Cursor users must cancel in iOS Settings; switching does not cancel or refund Apple billing.

What should India and USA agencies check before buying seats?

Map tooling spend across Grok, Cursor, and X seats; confirm Premium+ for Grok Bot needs; budget third-party model top-ups with spending caps; review Teams SOC 2, SSO, and admin controls; and apply NIST AI RMF Govern-Map-Measure-Manage for vendor concentration risk.
